| INTRODUCTION BY THE
PRESIDENT DR. PANDOZY The mission of
Corrective Fitness System TM is to design and market
fitness equipment and programs that promote the
appearance and performance of the body while
maintaining and preserving its health and integrity.
It rests on the fundamental and holistic principle
that health and fitness are one and the same.
Therefore, in designing fitness equipment and
fitness programs:
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the
biomechanical structure of the body, especially
its articulation of joints and muscle structure.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the health
and the integrity of the spine (the central
support of the body), especially the spinal
discs' health and performance.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the proper
alignment of the spine, its structure, its
natural curvature and its function to provide
support, posture and balance to the body.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect that a
healthy spine is a flexible spine and therefore
we must achieve a degree of elasticity in all
ligaments and cartilage surrounding the spinal
column.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the need
for flexibility of all muscles, joints and
cartilages of the body while pursuing the
strengthening and endurance of the body.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the fact
that by simple natural laws of muscle dynamics
maximum health and performance of all muscle
structures of the body is achieved only when we
allow both contraction and traction exercises to
be performed on an equal measure.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect the fact
that by promoting better blood circulation in
the body we maximize the health and vitality of
the same.
- We can neither ignore nor neglect what
ancient cultures have taught us and modern
science has now confirmed that spinal awareness
helps maintain body posture, balance,
concentrate energy and improve body performance.
Over the years, we have witnessed the impressive
expansion of the fitness industry with its
proliferation of gyms and sports centers around the
world, but not its evolution. In all truth, the
fitness industry, although emerging from the need
and the specific demand of the human body for health
and general well being, now rests on diversified
marketing strategies that emphasize cultural trends
and vogues more than the scientific knowledge that
affects the physiology of the body. Therefore, the
word "fitness" has lost its true meaning and sense
of purpose as body evolution.
At this point you may ask: "How do we instill
scientific principles into the industry?"
If you thoroughly follow Corrective Fitness
System's scientific argument you will share with me
the persuasion that any fitness and exercise
programs must, above all, preserve and promote the
physical health and integrity of the body.
Dr. Raffaele M. Pandozy
(President of Ifs-Corrective Fitness System)
"After decompressing you feel
rejuvenated."
It is our firm belief, as Dr. Alexander
demonstrated 40 years ago, that by sheer body
dynamics, the stress of each work-out, and indeed,
each physical movement is directly transferred onto
the lower back of the body, which is the gravity
center, the fulcrum of the body's bone structure,
and the body's weakest point.
There are well founded proofs that several
machines currently in use in gyms, are designed
without this idea in mind, that many stressful
exercises, such as weight lifting and "adrenal
aerobics" are hard on the spinal discs. This means
that just about anybody who works out today can run
the risk of long-term back injuries. In fact, more
than 100 million Americans already suffer from lower
back problems. I like at this point to quote myself:
"Let us agree on a common philosophy: we can't
use the word fitness without the word 'health"
We at CORRECTIVE FITNESS SYSTEM TM are applying
intelligence, creativity and financial resources to
design fitness equipment for the 21st Century,
namely, equipment that while improving body fitness,
protects and preserves the health of the back. We
know it to be a physiological fact that muscle's
fiber and muscle dynamics require both traction and
contraction; we know it to be a health fact that
unmanaged physical stress is a deteriorating factor
for the body. It is medically proven that during any
physical exercises, the back is continually under
stress. Especially during weight lifting and most
machine based exercises, discs and cartilage are
under tortuous dilatation and/or compression. Again,
this is because the entire body dynamic hinges on
the spinal column, and much of the exercise's stress
and weight is transferred to the lower back unless
some intelligent equipment designs are adopted.
It is a good preventive measure to isolate the
part of the body that needs attention and exercise
and to allow the action to remain there.
It is a good preventive measure to maintain
maximum spinal flexibility. A flexible spine is a
healthy one. Stretching muscles and ligaments helps
strengthen them, improve the vital flow of lymph to
the discs, and preserve intervertebral cushioning,
which means that the spine can take occasional,
brusque, and uncoordinated, sudden movements or
additional stress without injuries.
It is a good preventive measure to provide
protection and/or isolation of the lower, weaker
back muscles. Muscle imbalance can cause spinal
misalignment as well.
The fitness equipment of the new century must
take these facts into consideration. The alarming
fact is that a number of physical fitness machines
currently used in gyms constitute risks for short
and long-term back injuries. This means that back
problems will be on the rise as general population's
physical activity increases.
Corrective Fitness System TM is a very new thing
that addresses all these issues and produces
effective long-term solutions:
- It comprises a patented a new motorized
Inversion
Machine. Here is a description from our
President, Dr. Pandozy:
When anyone performs
any kind of exercise, such as lifting weight,
operating exercise machine, pounding on the
knees with aerobics, running, tennis, football,
basketball, etc. he/she does no more than
compressing each and every intervertebral disc
of the spinal column. There are 23 discs in the
spinal column. They are the shock absorbers that
allow space between the vertebrae, prevent them
from coming into contact with each other or torn
the cartilage that may be caught in between,
thereby causing trauma to the spine, arthritis
and other other damaging effects to the spinal
column, the central support and the dynamic
center of the body. So, in order to avoid damage
to the spine, it is important to decompress the
spine after all exercises. Our motorized
inversion machine was designed to easily and
thoroughly perform this task.
- We all know that before and after any
exercise one should stretch the body in order to
activate blood circulation in the muscles,
increase elasticity and prevent tissue tear.
Stretching should be done correctly and gently.
It is important to understand that stretching
has to do with muscle dynamics, which comprise
traction, contraction and torque. The force
applied to stretching should not be superior to
the weight of the body. In addition, it is to be
noted that all exercises engage the entire
muscle structure along the spine, which during
all exercises are indirectly, under contraction.
Therefore, the entire body muscles, not just one
part of it should be stretched, and these are
from top to bottom: those situated around the
spine and then the mastoids, the large and the
small oblique, the traversals, the splenius, the
lumbar and the abdominal mass, etc. One can see
the awkward and ineffective ways people try to
stretch parts of their body. Our Motorized
Inversion Machine gently stretches the entire
muscle structure of the body in seconds.
- Many exercises included in gyms programs
produce adverse solicitations, dynamic imbalance
and abnormal stress from all directions of the
spine. Take football, wrestling or the marshal
arts and you will have a clear vision as to what
happens to the spine during such performances.
Stress and abnormal side solicitations more or
less produce early degeneration of ligament
tissues and shift the spine out of position.
Hanging the body by the feet with the Motorized
Inversion Machine realigns the spine bringing
back its natural curvature and placement in the
body. The good functioning of the entire muscle
structure, the nervous system, the organs and
the blood circulation of the body depend on good
vertebral alignment.
- Our motorized inversion machine does more
than that:
- The stretching opens the
intervertebral space and in addition to
preventing the deterioration of the discs,
it renders the ligaments more elastic. This
translates into increased flexibility of the
spine. A flexible spine is a healthy spine,
while a stiff spine is more prone to
injuries likely to occur at the first
abnormal solicitation.
- Hanging upside down improves
blood circulation in arteries and
capillaries, which means that it improves
conditions such as cellulite and varicose
veins;
- It exercises the heart, which
is known to be a muscle organ. Being forced
to equalize the inverted gravity pressure in
the blood system.
- It produces an immediate sense
of well being and relaxation with energizing
effect, especially after workout and sports
activity.
Please check our reference list in our
website for additional benefits of the inversion
therapy. This is why the body inversion practice
should be included aspect of all exercise,
rehabilitation, sports and dance programs, which
means that every center should own at least
three or four of our machines.
The Motorized Inversion Machine falls under
the the concept of of "Corrective Fitness System
TM" which is a trademark of Ifs Inc. Our mission
is to develop exercise equipment proven to
achieve maximum results while providing maximum
protection for the vertebral column -- the
dynamic center of all body movements.
The main goals of the Corrective Fitness
System TM are:
- Ensure that the equipment meets
synchronically and harmonically body
dynamics, and that is that movements are
being hinged on the joints and not on the
spine.
- Ensure proper body position
during exercises and refine techniques as to
make the exercise effective and safe.
- Target the specific area of the
body and make sure that the stress caused by
the exercise does not have adverse
repercussion on the spinal column especially
on the sensitive vertebrae of the neck.
In sum, our goal is to design equipment that
not only strengthens and tones the body, but
also eliminates the risk of back injuries,
spinal problems, postural problems, etc. as well
as helping repair existing injuries.
- In addition to our Motorized Inversion
Machine, IFS Inc. has developed and patented a
All-Abdominal Miracle Machine. We call it
this way because it miraculously relieves spasms
and all sorts of back aches. It literally
renders obsolete four ordinary machines
currently in use in gyms and rehabilitation
centers, because they produce long term damage
to the back, such as the Stomach Crunch machine,
the Back Extension, all seated spinal and rotary
torso machines, and some lat machines. Our
All-Abdominal Miracle Machine performs all these
exercises and much more with the body in a
horizontal position, which is the ideal position
that isolates the lower back, and with legs
elevated. That is the big difference. It is much
easier on the spine and on the lower back and
concentrates the action where it is needed. In
addition,the All-Abdominal Miracle Machine has a
set of anatomical rollers that massage your
back, correct spine curvature and improves spine
flexibility. And God knows, that the best way to
prevent injuries is to possess a flexible spine.
- IFS Inc. has developed and patented an
Abdominal and Multi-Exercise, Free Weight Bench
for gyms and home markets, with stationary pad
and adjustable lumbar support, whose function is
primarily to support and neutralize the lumbar
muscles, so that any work-out stress remains
concentrated in the part it is intended to, such
as the shoulder and abdominal muscles, and to
prevent neck injuries during bench press
exercises. Most importantly, it develops good
spinal curvature and flexibility. It is ideal
for small and large gyms, as well as home use.
- IFS Inc. has developed and patented a
Strictly
Abdominal Bench with an adjustable lumbar
support and with adjustable, reclining pad. This
bench is twice as effective as ordinary sit-up
benches in developing abdominal muscles because
it neutralizes the entire set of lumbar muscles,
which are normally engaged in sit ups exercise.
This exclusion allows the abdominal muscle to do
100 percent of the work, which makes this
machine 100 percent effective.
- IFS Inc. has developed and patented a
Total Bike.
Designed both for the gym and the home market,
this machine is especially indicated for busy
people who have not much time to spend in gyms
or find exercise boring. It offers a combination
of multiple upper body and cardiovascular
exercises by incorporating all the best features
found in a bike as well (heart rate device
included). This machine allows the user to burn
more calories and reduce work-out time by half
and it is fun!
- IFS Inc. has in the making 5 brand new
designs of upper body machines for maximum
spinal strength and flexibility. Please check
