STRICTLY BEAUTY OF DESIGN, PRACTICALITY AND
PERFORMANCE
Question:
Why is the STRICTLY ABDOMINAL BENCH is the most
effective and safe machine in the world?
Answer:
It is scientifically proven that sit-ups exercises
may build abdominal muscles, but strain and produce
spasms in the lumbar muscles with dire medical
consequences. In fact the most arduous stress occurs
on the on the ''erector spinae'' and the ''thoracolumber''
muscles during the first 45 degree movement (see
chart) of the lifting of the head. The application
of what we call ''flexor'' neutralizes all the
lumbar muscles, thus protecting them from injuries
and transferring all the stress onto the abdominal
muscles.
This
unique sit-up bench combines the following benefits:
-
100% results in abdominal
exercise performance, because of the genial idea
of neutralizing the lumbar muscles
-
Protection of the much too weak
lumbar muscles and spinal ligaments.
-
Decompression of the spine and
in particular the lower part, which is the
center of gravity and the part that receive most
of the stress from the majority of exercises.
-
Improving flexibility of the
spine while exercising... for as to quote Dr.
Pandozy: "a flexible spine is a healthy spine".
-
Improving the spinal curvature
for better posture and better performance on all
other fitness exercises.
Discussion:
-
There are no other exercises
other than "sit ups" in order to produce
substantial abdominal muscle strength. (Six
Pack).
-
The stress in normal sit-up
exercises is shared in the 70% by the abdominal
and 30% by the lumbar muscle.
-
The lumbar muscles are the
weakest muscle in the body. They are there for
their sole purpose to support the spine.
-
The main problem is constituted
by the fact that, as shown in the diagram, the
first 15 degree run of the sit up exercise
induces maximum stress on the lumbar muscles
especially the ''Erector and Thoralumbar''
because when the head is lifted from a
horizontal position, as Archimedes would point
out, is like lifting a steel ball with the tip
of a pencil, which inevitably produces long term
injuries.
-
From 15 degree to 45 degree,
both set of muscles are engaged. Only after the
45 degree mark the abdominal muscles take over
and apply the necessary strength to complete the
movement.
-
The Strictly Abdominal Bench has
an adjustable device called ''flexor'' that
neutralizes and protects the lumbar muscles by
bending them to the opposite working condition,
allows the abdominal muscles to produce all the
necessary work for the sit up exercise and to
protect the lumbar muscles, which are the
weakest throughout the body.
-
In addition to building
abdominal muscle at 100% efficiency, the
''Strictly Abdominal Bench" decompresses the
disks of the spine and render the spine more
flexible by favoring the a correct curvature.
Decompression, flexibility and alignment of the
spine are the hidden secret of energy recovery
and health of the spine.

Apparatus and
Method for Performing Abdominal Exercises
Exercises aimed at strengthening the
abdominal area generally concentrate on the upper
and lower abdominal muscles. The typical abdominal
exercise is performed lying supine on a bench or the
floor and doing a sit-up movement. The ordinary
sit-up movement is initiated in the neck area,
specifically by the contraction of the neck muscles,
followed by the pectoral muscles and finally the
abdominal muscles. This type of movement
concentrates primarily on the upper abdominals and
lower abdominals located on the front of the human
abdomen. This type of movement puts great strain on
the neck muscles, the back muscles, and the spine.
The ideal abdominal exercise should support the
spine in its natural curved position and incorporate
the use of all the abdominal muscles, including the
upper, the lower, and the oblique muscles. The
oblique muscle is the largest and the most
superficial (outermost) of the three abdominal
muscles. The oblique muscle is situated on the
lateral and anterior parts of the abdomen.
The present invention is designed to
provide an exercise platform that is capable of
exercising all three abdominal muscle groups without
putting undue strain on neck and back muscles while
correctly supporting the natural curvature of the
spine.
